The Green Latifah & My Morning Routine

 

So this smoothie is inspired by the 'Green Latifah' I had at Barry's Boot Camp once..It has turned into not only my FAVORITE smoothie but Marcus's as well. If you know me, you know that I workout almost every morning at Core Power Yoga.

Right when I wake up I have a cup of coffee, 2 eggs over medium with Everything But the Bagel Seasoning and half an avocado OR Quaker Oatmeal. When I get home from class I always make a smoothie...Lately we are hearing about the intermittent fasting diet and how great it is..my daily 'meal plan' is quite the opposite of intermittent fasting! Ha! I am no health expert but I have found what works for me and maybe you too.

Ingredients

  • 2c almond milk 
  • 2 scoops of protein 
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 3c spinach 
  • 2c frozen mango
  • 1/2c ice 

Instructions 

Mix all of the ingredients into a  in a vitamix/blender/ninja. Start by adding the liquids and end with the frozen items! I have a vitamix and blend on the highest speed for 1 minute. If your consistency doesn't seem to be mixing well then add a little bit of water. 

Note: This makes 2 servings. I keep one in the freezer for the next morning!
